Chicago with Kids

If you follow me on Instagram, you know my bookend kids & I played tag along with daddy earlier this week. He had a work trip, so we went & played while he worked.
I’ve always loved the idea of raising kids in the city, so this was a good little opportunity for me to gently dip my toes in & try it out for a few days. Yep, still my idea of fun! I know… I only had 2 with me! BUT… it was totally doable & SO much fun.
We stayed outside of the city, just because that’s where the work conference was, so some things are in the burbs. I highly recommend ALL of these spots for kids.

Here’s a peek at what we did:
Millennium Park had a free concert going on, saw the bean & ate Chicago Style Hot Dogs. Great first night.

Donuts for breakfast… yummm!

LEGOLAND was an afternoon hit. He’s been asking to go for a while…. we did it!

Headed black to the city later to shop Nordstrom & eat UNO’s Pizza for dinner.

The next morning, E had requested breakfast in the room… so we did. “I think they think I’m a KING!!!” the little things to a 5 year old.

Headed back downtown & continued our day of fun.
Rock Climbing

Water fun with Chicago kids.

Magnificent Mile

That night the kids got tired, so we made the drive to Wrigleyville & checked out the neighborhood. Reminded me of “classic Chicago”, very cool spot.

Our final day we decided to check out the Lincoln Park Neighborhood. Scored a free street parking spot, so we hung out for the day. We did the Nature Muesum, which was a HUGE hit for a 5 year old boy.

And then the Lincoln Park Zoo

Finished it off with a walk through the beautiful neighborhood. Then, Hawaiian food for lunch at Aloha Eats.

Great, Great trip! We love you Chicago.
