Steak used to be one of those foods that we rarely ate at home. Until recently, when I discovered how to cook it in a cast iron skillet, on the stovetop. It’s now on the regular rotation. Really simple and tastes amazing! No more grill necessary for a delicious steak.
- Heat seasoned cast iron skillet in the oven at 425 until hot, about 15 minutes. Remove skillet from oven and place on stovetop on high heat.
- Place steak in skillet, salt and season as desired. Let the steak sear on one side about five minutes. Flip the steak, salt an season second side as desired. Let it sear for 5 more minutes, then place a lid on the skillet. Remain cooking with lid until desired wellness is achieved.
- Top with seasoned butter and enjoy!
